Hi friends! Today I have two cards for you, again, like last week. A simple and avid or stepped-up version. I love Stampin’ Up & all the coordinating products. But sometimes you need just a simple card that packs a punch. Below is a picture of both cards, side by side.
The simple & avid cards both use the same sketch, stamps and colors.
For the simple card, the first layer is a Basic Black 4” x 5.25”. On top of that is a piece of Basic White 3.75” x 4.25”. I stamped in Granny Apple Green the large leaf from the “Hello Ladybug” stamp set.
A 1.5” x 5.25” strip of Daffodil Delight DSP from Sale-a-bration was adhered directly to the black and white cardstock. A sweet sentiment “It’s a good day!” from the stamp set was inked Real Red ink & stamped on Basic White.
I stamped the wing dots in black Momento & punched them out using the new Ladybug Builder punch. Then I punched the Ladybug body out of Basic Black.
The avid card follows the above except the DSP was cut down so a Real Red panel could be added below it & popped up with dimensionals. I used the gorgeous Black & White Gingham ribbon that carried over from the past July -December Mini catalog.
For the sentiment, I pulled a little trick using our double oval punch. I stamped my sentiment on a 0.25” strip of Basic White. You can see in the picture below how I centered the strip & then punched to get the rounded ends.
I added Black Matte dots from our Annual catalog on the sentiment & the ladybug, like eyes. Last I changed the card base from Basic White to Granny Apple Green.
I hope you like these cards! Have a great day! Marilyn (aka MJ)
