Daffodil Afternoon DSP week

Hi friends! Happy Monday. We had a nice weekend. Yet today, I’m happy to get back to my weekly routine.

This week I’m going to focus my energy on creating with the beautiful Daffodil Afternoon DSP in the Sale-a-bration catalog; it’s free with $50 purchase”.

Today I am sharing two of the same layout – a clean & simple design and a detailed design. I usually send a good number of Easter or Spring cards. In my faith, Easter is a big deal so I like to send cards to family & friends. Nothing says Easter or Spring to me more than tulips and daffodils.

Lucky for us, Stampin’ Up released some awesome new bundles in the January-July mini catalog & one was daffodils and the other tulips. That said, I haven’t purchased the daffodil bundle… yet.

But I love this DSP so I’m planning on featuring this paper this week with other current products that I already have. Maybe this will help you to use your DSP even if you don’t have the coordinating stamp & die set.

Honestly, this DSP sheet really does all the work for you. This particular sheet has the daffodils on both sides of a vanilla center. I cut the DSP in half at 6” & then I cut 1/2” off the flowers’ green edge. Next I cut the 5.5 x 12 panels into six 4 x 5.5 panels. From there I trimmed to fit my card front.

For the simple card, I added a layer of Evening Evergreen under the DSP & used my Stamp-a-rates to stamp the sentiment in Mossy Meadow.

For the detailed designed card, I stamped my sentiment on Very Vanilla card stock & punched it out with the Label Me Fancy punch. An additional piece of Mossy Meadow was punched & cut in half & spread to make a border for the sentiment

I also added a 1.5” x 5.5” piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock that was masked with one of our new Butterflies & Flowers Decorative Masks. I used Mossy Meadow ink & our blending brushes to create a shaded panel- dark to light.

Last the beautiful Chevron Weave ribbon in Evening Evergreen was wrapped around the DSP panel before adhering to my Vanilla base.

I hope you like these cards & come back all this week for more creations with this “free with $50” DSP.
