Pumpkin Spice Everything?

My card today was inspired by pumpkins. I love the taste of pumpkin, (especially pumpkin pie); it always reminds me of fall. But in a effort to be health conscious, I try to get the pumpkin taste in a lower fat calorie way.

Are you a Pumpkin Spice lover? Me- that’s a yes! As long as it’s not too sweet. I ran across a recipe for homemade low-fat, low-sugar PS coffee creamer using pumpkin purée (aka canned pumpkin). I’ve modified it to fit my tastes & it’s super easy & delicious! I’ll be “over PS” thing by Halloween or Thanksgiving but it sure is good now. Then bring on Peppermint & Mocha. Hello Christmas! But let’s not get ahead of the seasons…

My card today features (again) the Rustic Harvest DSP. So pretty. See Wednesday’s post for another card & link to two more cards with this DSP.

I used the Stylish Shapes dies to create the stitched rectangles and frame. I LOVE these dies… I use them quite frequently.

See the picture below for how I made the Crushed Curry Frame. The smaller rectangle was centered inside the larger frame. Then I fit the pumpkin die cut rectangle right into the frame. If you’re worried about slipping, you can use Scotch tape on the back to adhere the two pieces together after cutting & before putting it on your card.

Yes I’m still using my Big Shot! I hope to get the newer Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine soon with some reward points… stay tuned:)

I use 3M Low Tack artist’s tape to hold it in place. Post-it note tape is similar. I find my “older & less pretty” non-SU washi tapes get gummy & tends to peel a layer off the card stock. I’m done with that hassle especially after ruining several die cut pieces. YKWIM? Below is another closeup of the card.

I added a bow made from the fun Silver-threaded twine; quite a bit thicker than our regular twine as you can see, but oh-so- fall!!

Lastly, the frame embellishment are Brushed metallic dots. Perfect for fall or Guy cards- don’t you think?

Here’s one last look at my no Stamp pumpkin fall card. I hope you like it.

I’d love to hear your opinion on Pumpkin Spice flavoring, your favorite recipe or this card. Happy weekend, MJ (aka Marilyn)
