InKing Royalty Blog Hop- Winter

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! We have created wintry projects to share with you today – snow, sleds and mittens are sure to be found in our lineup. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

My card for today’s hop doesn’t showcase Winter in a very pleasant way but I still hope that you will find inspiration in the gorgeous paper, the sentiment font and dies.

My momma’ always said “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” And so I will say that I really admire people who love winter…playing in the snow perhaps building a snowman or have a snowball fight, go sledding or bundle up & take a nice long walk. If you personally know me, you know that is definitely NOT me.

I needed a few more sympathy cards to replenish my stash. I hope it is a LONG time before I need one. Not an easy card to make & sometimes all you need is pretty paper, a sentiment and some little somethings, otherwise known as embellishments. My stash of sympathy cards needed replenishing so I used these colors to represent sorrow and the sparkle & silver provide hope & elegance.

I started with a Basic Gray card base with a Basic White insert. The Night of Navy layer was embossed with the stripes in the Stripes and Splatters Embossing Folders (EF) from the Annual Catalog (AC). The gorgeous DSP is from the By the Bay Specialty DSP; new in the January- April ’23 Catalog. The sentiment label & stamp are from the Something Fancy Bundle (stamps & dies). My little somethings are silver Elegant Trim from the AC. The silver dots are from Festive Pearls which were introduced to us in the July-December ’22 catalog & WooHoo they are carrying over.

I took several shots at different angles in hopes to capture the DSP’s beauty. I wish you could see it in real life. WAIT: you can! Just hop over to my store. MJ’s Store on January 4th.

Here’s is a super close up shot of the sentiment & embellishments.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop back to the top of the blog, Brian King at Stamp with Brian. Let him know you love this hop! There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

  1. Love this idea. I make cards to give as gifts at Christmas and I struggle sometimes with Sympathy cards. this is a perfect way to use DSP and make a beautiful card that hopefully will bring someone some comfort, knowing you made this for them during a hard bump in their life. Thanks for the idea.

  2. Your card perfectly describes your feelings about winter. 🙂 Such a beauty and such a great use of this non-winter paper for a design that feels like winter. Glad you hopped with us today!
