Christmas in July

Hi friends! Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature Christmas! I hope you are in a Holiday mood because there is a lot of Christmas fun headed your way. We are excited to share our creations with you today! As a Stampin’ Up demonstrators, we are able to “pre-order” products from the holiday catalog so we can prepare samples and classes for you. So I used a new bundle called Merriest Moments. The focal point on my card is the Merriest Frames Hybrid embossing folder; it cuts & embosses in a single pass through you die cut & embossing machine. It’s quite stunning, don’t you think?

I wasn’t sure about getting this bundle, it was on & off my wish list multiple times. But I finally decided to give the Hybrid EF a try. I’m so glad I decided to see what it was all about!!I just love it. It may end up being one of my favorites.

After cutting & embossing the Soft Succulent frame, & using our Blending brushes, Evening Evergreen ink was added to give some depth and contrast. I layered the frame on Evening Evergreen Shimmer Vellum & the entire panel on a base of Evening Evergreen. For the inside of the frame, a piece of Tidings of Christmas DSP was used to add some color. The sentiment is from Inspiring Thoughts & it was die-cut with Stitched Rectangles. I stamped Evening Evergreen on Soft Succulent with the branch stamp from this set & die cut it & also die-cut the smallest poinsettia in Real Red.

Shimmery Crystal Effects were added to some of the leaves & an all new red Wonderful Gem was added to the center of the poinsettia.

Book Binder In Symmetry Card

Hi friends! Happy Monday! Who doesn’t need a little lift on Monday from a friend!?

Today I’m sharing a card I made on Stamp with MJ Facebook Live for Triple Play Thursdays. It’s a book binder card- so fun & easy to make.

Starting with a 11 x 4.25 piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock, I scored at 5.5 and again at 6.5”. Next I wrapped a piece of Flirty Flamingo Gold Metallic ribbon between the 5.5” & 6.5” score lines & tied my bow. I ensured I was happy with the placement of the bow on the front & unfolded my card. Then I added Stampin’ Seal+ between the score lines & closed the front panel.

Tip 1: If you want to try it for the first time, skip the ribbon. You can decorate the front between the score lines with a 0.75” x 4” coordinating piece of DSP.

Tip 2: Keep the adhesive between these two score lines- it’s ok if you get adhesive on the inside ribbon as you’ll be sealing this 1” section.

That’s it for the book binding fun fold.

All that’s left now is to decorate the front panel. I used the Sweet Symmetry DSP & layered it on a piece of Just Jade card stock. The DSP colors and patterns are right on trend; just take a look around at home decor or women’s fashions & you’ll see what I mean. I love this about Stampin’ Up- so trendy along with the color coordination.

The DSP sale runs thru August 2nd.

The “hey friend” sentiment is from the In Symmetry stamp set; Flirty Flamingo ink stamped on basic white & punched with the Tailored Tag punch. Two additional tags were punched in Flirty Flamingo & bordered the white sentiment panel.

Just Peachy

Hi friends! I’m sharing a card I made on my Facebook Live- Stamp with MJ on Thursday.

I used the sketch 494 at Freshly Made Sketches.

The card base is Calypso Coral topped with a layer Calypso Coral embossed with The Tasteful Textures EF. The vertical panel uses You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper (DSP) on Pale Papaya. By the way, many of our Stampin’ Up DSPs are 15% off.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Sweet as a Peach stamp set. White craft ink was stamped on Calypso Coral & White crinkled seam binding ribbon was tied through an oval hole created with the Detailed Trio punch.

To add a little interest right corners were rounded & punched with the Detailed Trio punch. Pale Papaya Loose Flowers were added.

Paper Pumpkin Alternative

Hi friends!

Today I’m bringing you another paper Pumpkin alternative card. This time I’ve only added a few things to the June kit.

Starting with piece of Vellum, I stamped our new In-Color, Soft Succulent using the watercolor splatter stamp from the Paper Pumpkin stamp set. I added adhesive to the center of the vellum piece & secured it to a Soft Succulent card base.

Next I cut in half the kit’s smaller card in Evening Evergreen (another new In-Color). I took the Watercolor paper in green tones & cut three 0.75 inch strips & used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch on both ends & then centered those strips on the Evening Evergreen panel. The entire panel was adhered to the vellum.

Soft Succulent card stock & the Scalloped Contour dies were run through the mini cut & emboss machine. The floral stamp from the Paper Pumpkin was inked in Evening Evergreen on the Scalloped contour piece. An Opal Round was added to the center flower. The Evening Evergreen bakers twine from the kit was looped across the panel & then popped up with dimensionals.

The Paper Pumpkin kits are the bomb! So many supplies – a stamp set, an ink spot, and cards & envelopes. This kit had 9 & next month is 12 cards & envelopes! And I always have extra embellishments, glue dots & dimensionals left over. All for only $22 for a month at a time; less expensive if you sign up for automatic monthly shipments. Anyway, consider giving it a try – you won’t be disappointed!

June Paper Pumpkin- Expressions in Color

Today I am sharing with you an alternative card from the Expressions in Color Paper Pumpkin. I’ve used the stamp set & added a few things from my current stash. If you don’t have these things you can substitute or purchase these items from my SU Store.

Starting with a 5.25 X 4 inch piece of Basic White card stock, the watercolor splatter stamp from the Paper Pumpkin stamp set was inked up with Polished Pink and stamped off once on a scrap paper & then stamped onto the top portion of the paper once & again without re-inking. This was repeated until the desired result was achieved. The “Thanks” stamp was stamped in Polished Pink to the right side.

Next, the gorgeous coordinating Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper (or DSP) was layered on Gold Foil paper & then adhered to the Basic White Panel. I wrapped the gold Fine Art Ribbon around the Panel & secured to the back. Separately I tied a bow & adhered with glue dots. Last the entire panel was adhered to a base of Polished Pink.

Hi friends!

Welcome to my new website! I’m so glad you found me. A little about me & my site.
I’ve started this site with two purposes in mind; first, to share my love for creating Stampin’ Up! paper crafts, to teach others to CASE my creations, ( CASE= copy and share everything) & to inspire you to create.

I love to hand make cards, little gifts made of paper (treat boxes, notebooks etc.) and scrapbook pages. I have fun experimenting & it thrills me to do that “leg-work” & give you the tips & tricks along with the good, bad & ugly (what works & what doesn’t).

My second reason for creating this site is to keep my retired brain active by learning new things; & not just stamping but website design, photography, & other social media technologies.
