Rings of Love

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday!

Ringed with Love DSP #159139

My card for today features the Rings of Love DSP which is Sale-a-bration freebie with a $50 product order. It’s so pretty & coordinates with the Ringed with Nature bundle in the Annual Catalog. It’s a gorgeous set but I don’t have it (yet). But I loved the DSP so much & had to have it.

The design is another “go-to” for me. I cut a piece of the DSP at 4 x 5.25 & then cut the 5.25 side at 2.5. The 4 x 5.25 size gives me 6 card front panels; perfect for card swaps or making multiples. On the reverse side of the birds & branches DSP, is the pretty blue watercolor paper. Using my Stamparatus, I stamped in Night of Navy the large sentiment from the Good Feelings set, new in the Annual Catalog.

A strip of 0.25 or 1/4 x 4″ piece of Crushed Curry was placed between the two papers. Then a little bling using the Fine Sparkle Adhesive backed Gems was added. One last look below.

Thanks for stopping & see you again on Friday! Marilyn (aka MJ)

Purple Pansy

Hi friends! I’m back… our move went great. We’re still unpacking & my studio is in rudimentary shape but I have my essentials close at hand.

My card today features two of the new In-Colors- Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis. I’m just over the top crazy about this years In-Colors. Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet are the others. All gorgeous!

This card’s sketch is a simple one- a real “go-to” sketch. A 2 x 5.5” piece of DSP (6×6 In-Color DSP) mounted on 2.25” of Orchid Oasis. That panel was mounted on a Starry Sky card base.

The Pansy, stitched circle & sentiment used those same colors. All are dies. In the new Annual Catalog (AC), Stampin’Up generously kept the bundled price (10% off) for the Pansy Patch from the January-June mini catalog.

The stitched circle is from a new “stand alone” die set called Stylish Shapes (#159183). It’s easy to miss this new die set as there isn’t a coordinating stamp set…that said, they go with everything. You can see them on p.173 & in use on p.50 of the AC. These dies are so versatile, it’s a must have for essential tool kit.

The sentiment is from a new bundle called Charming Sentiments (#158734). Another set that you’ll likely want. In addition to the die cut sentiments, there are useful shapes like candles, hearts and stars. Look for them on p.161 & with the stamps on p.38.

Thanks for staying with during my move hiatus. I’ll be posting on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. You can follow me to get notified of my new posts. I’d appreciate it if you would like my page.

Let me know if you need paper/hard copy catalogs- remember Sale-a-Bration is happening now.

Stay cool & Happy Stamping, Marilyn (aka MJ)

Harvest Cards

On July 1st, the July-December catalog goes live. WooHoo! Plus Sale-a-bration too! Double WooHoo! I have two super quick & easy cards for you showcasing the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I love when Stampin’ Up gives us at least one sheet of DSP in a pack that can be cut in half at 6” x 12 & trimmed to 5.25” x 4”. These 6 pieces can be used a card fronts. Today I’m sharing two cards made with these pieces.

I used Crushed Curry and Merry Merlot for card bases. I added a piece of coordinating card stock under the DSP & on top of the card base. I stamped sentiments in Merry Merlot on Crushed Curry. Punches were used to make labels. Brushed Brass Butterflies were added to the sentiment label.

Have a great day! Happy Stamping, Marilyn (aka MJ)

Bold Lovely in Linen

Happy Friday, friends! It has been a super hot week here in St. Louis just like many parts of the US. I hope you are able to stay safe and cool. Today I have a fresh and fast card for you today.

I love using our DSP to create cards… whether you make fast & easy or more intricate (Avid Artistic) cards the Designer Series Papers (DSP) make your card especially gorgeous.

Here I used the Lovely in Linen DSP. It is so easy to Color Coordinate as Stampin’ Up identifies all the colors that make up the DS papers. So I used a base of Sweet Sorbet (a new In-Color). I stamped with one of the bold “Good Feelings” stamps in Sweet Sorbet on Pale Papaya. Then cut it our with a Stitched Rectangle die.

My DSP is mounted on a piece of Night of Navy. I tied Pale Papaya weave ribbon (#155672) and bow and added dimensionals on the back before placing on the Sweet Sorbet base. I used dimensionals to mount the sentiment panel. To add a little extra, I added a Pale Papaya Loose Flower.

I hope you like today’s card… super fast & easy. I’ll be back on Monday. Have a great weekend & stay cool!

Real Red Flowing Flowers

Hello Friends! Happy Monday. I hope you had a great weekend. Today I have a pretty card for you. I hope you think so too.

I chose to use the stamp set called Flowing Flowers from the January- July mini catalog. It is a stunning flower, don’t you think? It is a one of Stampin’ Up’s DistINKive sets where the stamps create different opacities in a single stamped image for realistic depth and intensity. Look at that flower- it was stamped with a single stamp that was inked up with Real Red. Amazing, huh?

The Real Red panel is embossed with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. Although much of it is covered up the parts of the panel that peek out give the card texture and depth.

The DSP is from the soon to be retiring Host DSP called Pattern Party. On one side is black and white designs and the other is colorful designs like this Granny Apple Green panel. . I’ve used it so much this year. It is on the retiring list so it’s a good time to order it along with all the other amazing products that will be retiring. I added two more retiring items. A bow in Double stitched Real Red Satin ribbon and the Holiday Rhinestones Basic Jewels.

I hope you consider taking advantage of all the last chance items which are only available while supplies last. Some are even discounted up to 40%. The stamp set will be with us at least until the end of the January-June mini catalog.

Happy Stamping! Marilyn (aka MJ)
