Merriest Moments

Hi friends!

Today’s card features the Merriest Moments Bundle. I like a few non-traditional color cards although traditional colors are preferred by DH (dear husband). So I can be sure this card & its duplicates are just for me. (Teehee)

The card base is Soft Sea Foam & the background dots stamp & Evening Evergreen ink we’re used to make the background on the base.

Soft Succulent cardstock was cut & embossed using the hybrid EF & die. The white ink was used to soften & define the embossing. The sentiment is from the set & stamped in Evening Evergreen on Soft Sea Foam; and there’s a piece of Polished Pink cardstock sneaking out behind the sentiment panel.

My flowers were inspired by Nikki Spencer; she used Blushing Bride & Polished Pink & I used the same. My centers were Evening Evergreen with an In Color Jewel.

Pretty Presents

Hi friends!

I’m posting late this Monday but for a good reason… as I had a busy, fun 3-day weekend crop & I didn’t get my card photographed last night for early morning posting.

Anyway…I made this card at the crop. I was inspired or CASEd Mary Fish’s card . She made a fun fold gift card holder & she even made a tutorial (how awesome is that?!) I eliminated her snowflake, used different ribbon & moved the sentiment.

Here is a close up of the ribbon. The Mint Macaroon velvet ribbon is so soft & to me, says Winter. I tied (silver) Simply Elegant Trim. I’m not sure if you can see but the present DSP has silver bows on the presents. So I wanted to pull in more silver to coordinate .

The dots on the sentiment are our Rhinestone Basic jewels although it just doesn’t capture the sparkle. At the crop, I had a sheet of our Rhinestones on my craft table & a friend walked by, did a double take and came back to comment that Stampin’ Up’s rhinestones are “so shiny & bright…better than any other brand”. I couldn’t agree more- they really outshine every other brand!

Thanks for stopping by today! Please check for my next post on Wednesday.

Happy Stampin’, Marilyn (aka MJ)

Holiday Penguin

Hi friends! Today I have a fun, non-traditional color holiday card for you.

This paper is free with any $50 purchase starting on Wednesday. It’s part of the Sale-a-bration promotion & just in time for your holiday crafting.

I started with a card base of Fresh Freesia & added a mat of Misty Moonlight for my Penguin Playmates DSP. The colors are Fresh Freesia, Misty Moonlight, Soft Sea Foam & Just Jade.

Our new holiday mini catalog starts Tuesday & includes a stamp & punch bundle featuring this Penguin. But I fussy cut my Penguin from the DSP & adhered him to a Soft Sea Foam label from the new mini catalog’s Seasonal Labels dies.

For the sentiment, I stamped in Misty Moonlight the “Season’s Greetings” from the Merriest Moments bundle.

The White Glittered ribbon is new too & so gorgeous! It’s wrapped around the DSP panel & a small piece is tied to the side. Three Fresh Freesia In- Color Jewels were added for a little extra sparkle.

I just love these colors & this DSP!

Christmas in July

Hi friends! Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature Christmas! I hope you are in a Holiday mood because there is a lot of Christmas fun headed your way. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Merriest Moments

As a Stampin’ Up demonstrators, we are able to “pre-order” products from the holiday catalog so we can prepare samples and classes for you. So I used a new bundle called Merriest Moments. The focal point on my card is the Merriest Frames Hybrid embossing folder; it cuts & embosses in a single pass through you die cut & embossing machine. It’s quite stunning, don’t you think?

I wasn’t sure about getting this bundle, it was on & off my wish list multiple times. But I finally decided to give the Hybrid EF a try. I’m so glad I decided to see what it was all about!!I just love it. It may end up being one of my favorites.

Blending & Shimmery Crystal Effects

After cutting & embossing the Soft Succulent frame, & using our Blending brushes, Evening Evergreen ink was added to give some depth and contrast. I layered the frame on Evening Evergreen Shimmer Vellum & the entire panel on a base of Evening Evergreen. For the inside of the frame, a piece of Tidings of Christmas DSP was used to add some color. The sentiment is from Inspiring Thoughts & it was die-cut with Stitched Rectangles. I stamped Evening Evergreen on Soft Succulent with the branch stamp from this set & die cut it & also die-cut the smallest poinsettia in Real Red.

Shimmery Crystal Effects were added to some of the leaves & an all new red Wonderful Gem was added to the center of the poinsettia.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Pam Morris at Tap Tap Stamp. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it! Marilyn
