Autumn’s arrived

Hi friends! I’m happy that Autumn has finally arrived. Our trees haven’t changed in STL but the temperatures are definitely cooler. So today I have a fall inspired card that I made for two challenges.

I used the sketch & colors from The Fusion Challenge. As you can see, I flipped the sketch.

I used the wonderful host paper from the July-December’22 mini catalog called “Celebrate Everything”. It easy to miss on the last page, but don’t because it has all the seasons represented. That DSP was mounted on Crushed Curry & adhered to a Crumb Cake card base.

For the sentiment panel, I diecut a Basic White Stylish Shape circle & used our large flat watercolor brush to add Crushed Curry & Granny Apple Green. I swiped a couple of times & let them be. I wanted a non-uniform look.

Using Evening Evergreen I stamped the sentiment from the Wildlife Wonder Stamp set. A couple of leaves from “Nuts about Squirrels” in Granny Apple Green were added. That layer was stacked on top of a Decorative Circle punch & then a larger Stylish Shapes diecut in Crushed Curry.

Last I tied Evening Evergreen ribbon with a piece of Twisted Twine for interest.

The 2nd challenge I used for inspiration was Tic Tac Toe I picked the top row- leaves, ribbon & Autumn colors.

Don’t forget about Free Shipping tomorrow for product orders over $75 (before shipping & tax). Have a great Monday!

Paper Pumpkin Alternative #2

Hi friends!

I have another Paper Pumpkin alternative card for you today. I venture to say that this October ‘21 Paper Pumpkin (PP) is my favorite of the year. And that’s saying a lot as I am always raving about PP.

I used the sketch over on the Fusion Challenge. I flipped it & turned it into a “Tall & Skinny” card.

The size is 8.5 x 3.75 & it fits in a business size envelope. I took a full sheet of cardstock & cut the 11” side at 8.5; and on the 8.5 side I cut a 7.5 & scored at 3.75. This size is good if you also send a family photo or letter with your handmade card.

I cut the PP envelope sides & top off & was left with these gorgeous silver trees on Shaded Spruce paper. I mounted the envelope piece on a piece of Silver Foil Speciality paper, then the whole thing was mounted on Thick Basic White cardstock base.

For the sentiment circle, I die cut a piece Evening Evergreen & a scalloped piece of Shaded Spruce with the Layering Circles dies. On the Evening Evergreen circle panel I used two of the stamps from the PP kit & embossed with silver. The stamps in the kit are fabulous.

The ribbon is from the Annual Catalog & called Evening Evergreen Chevron Weave ribbon. It was cinched with a knotted piece of Simply Elegant trim. To me, the ribbon has a nice “winter-y” look & feel.

I hope you like my take on the Fusion Challenge as well as my alternative PP card. I think the PP is one of the best values around; it really is worth signing up to receive it monthly. If you don’t already have a demonstrator, I’d love it if you would order your Paper Pumpkin from me, Marilyn Jones. Not ready yet? Email me & we can discuss the benefits.

We always get a sneak peek & a little info like colors, & if we’ll see cards or treat boxes or other items like tags. You can pause your subscription by the 10th of the month without “penalty”.

Thanks for stopping & please come back on Wednesday for another something new.

Happy Stamping, Marilyn (aka MJ)
